THE PARKLANGLEY CLUB

LEISURE

BECKENHAM, KENT

The existing clubhouse and redundant badminton hall were demolished, a temporary clubhouse was provided during the construction period and the new facilities were constructed in phases in order that the club was kept open during the works.

Funding was obtained from a variety of sources including Sport England Lottery Fund, the Lawn Tennis Association, the Badminton Federation and the members themselves.

The Parklangley Club has run as a private members’ sporting club for over 60 years and has enjoyed an enviable reputation particularly for the standard of its tennis. The facilities, as with many clubs owned by its members, have had various additions made to them over the years including the construction of squash courts and indoor tennis courts, but were in need of a comprehensive upgrading.

The construction works are now complete and include new badminton and squash courts, a health suite, fitness club and a stunning new clubhouse with shop, bar and restaurant, kitchen, changing facilities, sauna and function rooms. Viewing galleries have been constructed for spectators and competitors to watch social and league games of squash, badminton and tennis.

Now that the main buildings are finished, the existing grass courts are being supplemented with two new clay courts together with additional car parking facilities.
